Real-time fracture treatment optimization is a key objective in unconventional reservoirs, driven by the need to maximize return on investment. Quantifying the economic value of achieving a highly uniform fluid distribution—measured by the Uniformity Index (UI)—is essential to justify the costs of advanced diagnostic technologies like fiber optics and high-frequency pressure monitoring. Utilizing calibrated reservoir simulation models based on Middle Bakken well data, the financial impact of varying fluid distribution uniformity reveals significant production sensitivity to cluster efficiency. Improving the average UI by just 0.1 across a single well can increase first-year production by approximately 2.5% and add roughly $300,000 in Net Present Value (NPV), providing a clear value proposition for pursuing intelligent, data-driven fracturing solutions.
