Surface efficiency in hydraulic fracturing has guided operators as they scale to factory operations, yet trueefficiency depends on both surface execution and subsurface cluster performance. Major stimulationcosts—diesel and chemicals—are best controlled when hydraulic horsepower delivery aligns withdownhole behavior. High-frequency surface-pressure technology and temporal calculations now quantifypipe friction, perforation friction, perforation efficiency, Uniformity Index (UI), and effective hydraulichorsepower (HHP) in real time, enabling pumping controls to integrate with subsurface insights sovariability can be managed and designs optimized.
